Colarado Rockies pitcher Drew pomeranz was arrested early friday morning in Oxford Miss.and charged with disturbing the peace.
22-years-old Pomeranz got arrested while coming out of a bar around 1:25 a.m. and he was released on a case bond at 4:40 a.m.
Rockies released the following statement after the incident. "They were aware of the "Unfortunate incident" involving Pomeranz. And he also said We have been in contact with Drew and his representatives and we will continue to gather information. Both Drew and our organization understand the serious nature of the situation".
The left-handed Drew was part of the Ubaldo jimenez trade. And made his major league debut in September. He was born in November 22, 1988 in Memphis, TN. PomPomeranz was at the intersection of Tyler Avenue and 11th Street, which is just west of the square at 1 a.m. The arresting officer stated "that Pomeranz was arrested due to creating and being involved in a disturbing with others in the street" Chief Mike Martin wrote in an e-mail.eranz was 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA in four starts for the Rockies. He walked five in 18 1-3 innings.
An all-American at Ole Miss in Oxford, Pomeranz was taken fifth overall in the 2010 draft by Cleveland Indians.
